One Application only:
Submit only one application (paper or online). If you submit both, your assessment will be delayed.
If you have already applied on a paper application or online and require a reassessment, do not re-apply online. Contact Manitoba Student Aid.
As a benefit to Manitoba residents, the Provincial Government provides an additional six-month interest and payment-free period on Manitoba Student Loans. This benefit extends the interest and payment-free period to twelve months from your End of Study date. To be eligible you must be residing in Manitoba on the first day of the seventh month after your End of Study date.
Remember, repayment of your MSL will begin six months after you cease to be a full-time student. It is your responsibility to ensure each of your lenders has your current mailing address. If you are currently enrolled as a full-time student you must provide all of your lenders with confirmation of enrollment.
You will receive a letter outlining your repayment terms approximately six weeks prior to the end of your interest and payment-free period. Please notify us immediately of any changes to your banking information, name, or address.
Repayment Options
Generally, payments are electronically deducted from your bank account on the 1st of each month.
You may request a repayment schedule that is more suitable to your needs such as bi-weekly, weekly, or monthly payments to coincide with your employment pay periods.
You may pay off your loan or make extra payments at anytime without penalty.
